Paper art came early into my life as I was born into the age of radio programs and comic books. Drawing original paper doll clothes for the teens from the comics was fun. Listening to the radio often got me into trouble as Dad had to unscrew the fuse to my play room electricity, so I would come away from my desk to dinner!

I had many mediums to work with as my aunt who was a teacher, always gave me paper and art supplies. I often wonder if they were "confiscated" from the school?

As years passed I studied art in school and at O.S.U. in Oregon. I gave up academia to marry and raise two sons. The art never left me as the boys and friends were my students and then on to teach YWCA children's art classes and the children at Head Start. There was always oodles of paper and paints. When I worked with adults I found the children's instruction serve me well as a basis in planning decorative painting and paper arts classes.

 Time went on and I learned more of the beauty of art through sewing and machine embroidery; overstitching exotic fabric designs. The colors and texture excite me.

Porcelain painting is a favorite of mine, with all the nuances of the fine colors and china.

 The art of rubberstamping was new to me, 8 years ago. I looked at a few and of course I was hooked!

Paper, paints, fabric textures, fibers, china; really all mediums, were familiar companions in my life. This rubber somehow, is easily tied to them all.

 Now we are retired in Mesa, AZ. I have a a supportive spouse, wonderful studio to work in, my computer to enlarge my friendship circle and all my favorite art supplies.

I have plans to enjoy this, every day of my life.

As the song goes: "...Who Could Ask for Anything More?"
