Supplies:

·        Small rubber stamps
·        Dye and pigment Ink Pads
·        8 ½” x 11” piece of cardstock (a light color which coordinates with your chosen color scheme)
·        Paper, ribbon and/or fabric scraps (be sure to have some texture e.g., corrugated or cork paper)
·        Glue stick
·        Embossing powder
·        4 ¾” x 4 ¾” cardstock – black or coordinating dark color
·        5” x 10” cardstock for card base

Instructions :

Gluing

1. Rip, cut and tear pieces of paper, ribbon and/or fabric scraps, to varying sizes and edges.
2. Using glue stick, completely cover back of scrap with glue.
3. TIP – use an old magazine to glue on, turning page as needed to avoid getting glue on new scraps.
4. Adhere glued pieces to 8 ½” x 11” cardstock in a random pattern covering most of the paper.
5. Randomly stamp entire sheet using both dye and embossing inks and powders (try to fill in most open areas so you don’t end up with too many ‘boring’ squares).
6. NOTE – paper will look very messy and crowded!

Cutting – try to make straight cuts

7. Use paper cutter to cut sheet into 1 ½” x 1 ½” strips.  You’ll get five 1 ½” strips and one 1” strip.
8. Cut each 1 ½” strip into 1 ½” squares.
9. Cut 1” strip into 1” squares.

Creating cards

10. Glue nine 1 ½” squares onto 4 ¾” square dark cardstock leaving an equal amount of space between squares.
11. TIP – first glue down the corner squares and work in from there to maintain an even space between squares.
12. Squares should be chosen randomly (serendipitously) so they are not glued onto the card in their original pattern.
13. You’ll have enough squares to create four 5” x 5” cards.  One will not have a middle square – use a remaining 1” square and layer it until it becomes 1 ½” x 1 ½”, and one 5 ½” x 4 ¼” card.
