Cork Stamping

In exploring Cork Stamping, it’s often used as a selected piece with an image or word.  The basics for stamping on cork are quite simple:

• Sheet of Cork (Darice ~ TAC)
• Black Noir Palette Hybrid Ink (Stewart Superior ~ TAC)
• YES glue (Gane Brothers & Lane, Inc. ~ TAC)

1.  Ink up image with Black Noir Palette ink.  Stamp onto cork using firm pressure and hold for a count of 10 to let the ink soak in.

2.  Trim or tear cork as desired.  A deckle scissors works great but I prefer just tearing it randomly myself.

3.  Mount this on your card with Yes glue.

NOTE:  You can, also, use Jet Black StazOn ink, which is a solvent based ink and not a regular dye inkpad.

HORSE CARD

Supplies:

• Happy Trails stamp set (TAC)
• Black cardstock;
  • ¼ Sheet (5½” x 4¼”)
  • front panel piece (3½” x 2½”)
• Ivory naturals cardstock
  • ½ sheet trimmed (5¼” x 8”)
  • front piece (3¼” x 2¼”)
• Mono Adhesive (Tombow)
• Deckle Scissors (Fiskars)
• Black Stickles Glitter Glue (Ranger ~ TAC)
• Spiral paper clip (TAC)

Instructions: 

1.  Fold trimmed half sheet of ivory naturals cardstock in half. Mount to quarter sheet of black cardstock with Mono Adhesive.

2.  Trim front piece of ivory naturals with deckle scissors. Punch 2 small holes 1/3” apart and thread spiral clip through. Attach to black front piece with Mono Adhesive then attach those to the half sheet of ivory naturals with Mono Adhesive.

3.  Stamp colt on cork with Black Palette ink.  Mount to ivory naturals front piece with YES glue.  Add black stickles glitter glue to the eye. 

4.  Stamp saying of your choice on the inside using black ink.

TOOLS CARD

• Tools stamp set (TAC)
• Cowboy Boots Brown Ink pad (TAC)
• Brown cardstock; ¼ Sheet (5½” x 4¼”)
• Ivory Naturals cardstock; ½ Sheet trimmed (5¼” x 8”)
• Background Paper (The Stack III {DCWV}~ Michaels)

4⅜” x 3¾”, then cut diagonally once from corner to corner

• Mono Adhesive (Tombow)

Instructions

1.  Fold trimmed half sheet of Ivory naturals cardstock in half. Stamp images randomly with Cowboy Boots ink.  Mount to quarter sheet of brown cardstock with Mono Adhesive. 

2.  Stamp one “tool” image on cork and tear to trim. Cut ivory naturals triangle to fit your cork tool image. Cut brown cardstock triangle a ¼” bigger than your ivory naturals one.  Punch hole in each corner and insert light brown brad.  Mount to half sheet of Ivory naturals with Mono Adhesive.  Attach cork to triangle piece with YES glue. 

3.  Stamp saying on cork and tear to trim.  Mount to half sheet of ivory naturals with YES glue. 

4.  Stamp saying of your choice inside.

GIRAFFE CARD

Supplies:

• African Giraffe stamp set (TAC)
• Burnt Sienna Palette Hybrid Ink pad (Stewart Superior ~ TAC)
• Black cardstock; ¼ Sheet (5½” x 4¼”)
• Copper metallic paper (5⅜” x 4⅛”)
• Dark Brown cardstock; (any scrap you have just laying around)
• Ivory Naturals cardstock; ½ Sheet trimmed (5¼” x 8”)
• Mono Adhesive (Tombow)

Instructions

1.  Fold trimmed half sheet of ivory naturals cardstock in half. Stamp words along fold 3 times without re-inking using Burnt Sienna ink.  Mount to copper paper then mount that to the quarter sheet of black cardstock all with Mono Adhesive. 

2.  Stamp one giraffe image on cork and tear to trim.  Hold with dark brown scrap to see how you want to mount it on the half sheet of ivory naturals. 

3.  Mount to dark brown scrap to half sheet of ivory naturals with Mono Adhesive.  Attach cork to scrap piece overlapping onto half sheet of ivory naturals with YES glue. 

4.  Stamp saying of your choice inside.
