Alcohol Inks on a Light Switch Plate

Supplies

Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad (Tsukineko – TAC)
Fern Frond Stamp  (TAC – T797)
Gold Leafing Pen (Krylon – TAC)
Terra Cotta Alcohol Ink (Ranger)
Butterscotch Alcohol Ink (Ranger)
Espresso Alcohol Ink (Ranger)
Plastic Light Switch Plate (local hardware store)
Minwax Polyurethane (local hardware store)
1” Clear Acrylic Block (TAC)
1” Square of thin quilt batting
1” Square of self-adhesive Velcro - the hook portion
Small Spray Bottle
Rubbing Alcohol

Instructions

1. Attach the square of self-adhesive Velcro to the acrylic block.
2. Press a piece of quilt batting against the Velcro.
3. Scribble Gold Leafing Pen generously over the surface of the light switch plate.
4. Apply several drops of Butterscotch Alcohol Ink to the quilt batting.
5. Dab the ink on the surface of the light switch plate.
6. Repeat with Terra Cotta ink.
7. Lightly dab Espresso ink around the edges of the cover.
8. Repeat the process as necessary to give complete coverage.
9. Holding your arm far away from the light switch cover, spray a short burst of rubbing alcohol.
10. Allow the Alcohol Ink to dry.
11. Stamp the Fern Frond repeatedly with Jet Black Staz~On Ink and allow to dry.
12. Coat with a layer of Polyurethane to seal design work.
