Using Your Marbles

Sophisticated Sentiments stamp set (TAC)
All American Blue Dye Ink Pad (TAC)
All American Blue Dye Refill (TAC)
Two  4” x 4” Ivory Card Stock (Hollo’s)
One  6” x 4.25” Blue Card Stock (Hollo’s)
One  9” x 6.25” Ivory Card Stock (Hollo’s)
Mono Adhesive (Tombow~*TAC)
10-12" Blue Organdy Ribbon (Offray)
Bone Folder (TAC)
Marbles
Plastic Cup (Solo)
Old box or box lid

Instructions for Marbling:

1.    Place 5-10 marbles into a plastic cup.

2.    Add 4-6 drops of refill ink to the cup of marbles.  Swirl them around until they are well coated.

3.    Place one piece of your 4” x 4” ivory card stock into the bottom of an old box or box lid.

4.    Dump the ink coated marbles into the box off to the side of the card stock.

5.    Swirl the marbles around the box leaving trails of ink all over the piece of card stock.

6.    Roll the marbles back to one edge of the box and dump back into the plastic cup.

7.    Allow card stock to dry.

Instructions for finishing the card:

1.    Fold the 9”x 6.25” ivory card stock in half using a bone folder, to create an A6 size card.

2.    Attach the blue card stock onto the A6 card using Mono Adhesive.

3.    Using the All American Blue ink pad, stamp the lady images and the word images onto the 4” x 4” ivory card stock. Position the stamp slightly towards the right side to allow for the overlapping layer.

4.    Attach this to the right side of the blue card stock layer with MonoAdhesive leaving equal amounts of blue showing on the top, bottom and right side.

5.    Cut your marbled paper to 2.5” x 3.5”. Tear approximately ½” off one of the long sides.  Tie a bow around the middle.  Attach to the left side of the blue cardstock using your MonoAdhesive over lapping your stamped ivory layer, but not over your images.

 You can store the inked marbles in the cup to use again and again by adding one or two drops of re-inker and/or water.  Use more than one color to create interesting backgrounds.  Wait until your first color is dry before marbling with a second color.  This technique works well on matte or glossy paper.
